Applications Accepted for Multiple Waiting Lists Salem Housing Authority will be accepting applications for multiple waiting lists, starting at 9:00 am PDT on Saturday, April 27, 2024, and closing at 11:59 on Sunday, May 19, 2024.

Property Waiting List

Hope Plaza Project-Based Voucher This property is owned and operated by Center for Hope and Safety, with Project-Based Voucher rental assistance provided by Salem Housing Authority:

  • Waiting lists for Studio (1-2 people), 1-bedroom (1-3 people), and 2-bedroom (2-5 people) units. These units have rental assistance from the Project-Based Voucher (PBV program). Tenant rent is approximately 30% of monthly income.

  • The waiting lists for this property provide a preference for survivors of domestic violence. Center for Hope and Safety will verify that applicants meet the criteria for the preference when they come to the top of the waiting list.

  • Applications will be placed on the waiting lists in random lottery order.

  • Income limit: 50% Area Median Income, as established by HUD.

Englewood East Operated by the Salem Housing Authority:

  • Waiting list for 1-bedroom (1-2 people) and 2-bedroom (2-4 people) units. Elderly housing– head of household, spouse, or co-head must be age 62 or over at move-in.

  • This property offers rental assistance from the HUD Project-Based Rental Assistance (PBRA) Program. Tenant rent is approximately 30% of monthly income.

  • Applicants are placed on the waiting list by the date and time of application.

  • Income limit: 50% Area Median Income, as established by HUD.

Englewood West Operated by the Salem Housing Authority:

  • Waiting list for 1-bedroom (1-2 people) units. Elderly housing – head of household, spouse, or co-head must be age 62 or over at move-in.

  • This property offers affordable, flat rent, and tenant-based rental assistance is accepted.

  • Applicants are placed on the waiting list by the date and time of application.

  • Income limit: 60% Area Median Income, as established by HUD.

Parkway West Operated by the Salem Housing Authority:

  • Waiting list for 3-bedroom (1-7 people) units.

  • This property offers affordable, flat rent, and tenant-based rental assistance is accepted.

  • Applicants are placed on the waiting list by the date and time of application.

  • Income limit: Most units are limited to 60% Area Median Income, as established by HUD.


Brush College and Meadowlark Village Operated by the Salem Housing Authority:

  • Waiting list for 2-bedroom (2-5 people) units. This project includes units with mobility accessibility features. Accessible units are offered first to applicants with a verified need for these features.

  • This property offers rental assistance from the HUD Project-Based Rental Assistance (PBRA) Program. Tenant rent is approximately 30% of monthly income.

  • Applicants are placed on the waiting list by the date and time of application.

  • Income limit: 50% Area Median Income, as established by HUD
