Notice of Opening of the Mahonia Crossing Project-Based Voucher Waiting List
1-Bedroom Units for Elderly Households (62+)
2-Bedroom Units for Family Households (No Age Requirement)
Effective Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. through Sunday, October 26, 2025, at 11:59 p.m., Salem Housing Authority (SHA) will accept applications for the waiting list for Mahonia Crossing Project-Based Vouchers 1-bedroom units for Elderly Households and 2-bedroom units for Family Households.
Applicants will be placed on the waiting list based on the date and time of their application.
These units at Mahonia Crossing will offer income-based rent through the Section 8 Project-Based Voucher program. Residents pay approximately 30% of their monthly income for rent and utilities at these properties. Assistance is tied to the units and is not transferable.
These units are restricted to households with income at or below HUD’s Very Low-Income Limit (50% Area Median Income), which is $92,600 (as of April 1, 2025):
- 1 Person - $32,450
- 2 People - $37,050
- 3 People - $41,700
- 4 People - $46,300
- 5 People - $50,050
- 6 People - $53,750
- 7 People - $57,450
- 8 People - $61,150

Applications will be accepted from Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. until Sunday, October 26, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. Applications will not be accepted after the application period closes.
